RSE (Relationships & Sex Education)

It is a statutory requirement that all schools in England and Wales provide high-quality Relationship and Sex Education (RSE) as a fundamental part of the curriculum, in line with the 2025 government guidance.

As part of implementing the updated RSE curriculum, St. Mary’s actively consults with children, parents, staff, and governors to ensure there is broad agreement on our approaches to policy and curriculum content. A parent consultation was carried out in October 2025 to gather feedback on the proposed curriculum and policy updates.

All feedback from children, parents, staff, and governors is carefully considered and informs the development and delivery of our RSE curriculum. The policy and curriculum are regularly reviewed to ensure they remain up to date, inclusive, and reflective of current guidance.
